I'm just living, laughing, & loving

Ok here we go.

1. I have run out of gas once in my life. I was 17, on my way home from school. I was driving friends home and we ended up walking a half mile to one of their houses to get his gas can for his lawn mower to start it back up. My parents don’t know to this day. I’d never live it down.

2. I’m terrified of Pumpkins, specifically Jack-o-lanterns. My brother and dad used to torture me with the guts inside of them when carving them. Yes, I am aware this is irrational. I can’t help it.

3. Thus, Fall is my least favorite season of all. 

4. In Jr High I was in a girls singing ensemble. I had to wear a tuxedo shirt, gold cumberbund, gold bow tie, top hat and a cane. In High School, I was a tad luckier in the Beauty Shop Quartet, and only had to wear a red sequined dress. Ahh, what I did for my love of singing.

5. In 3rd grade I lost the spelling bee to my friend Erin when my principal, Mr. Chance, gave me the word “Pumpkin” but pronounced it “Punkin”. So that’s what I spelled. P - U - N - K - I - N. Bastard. I’m still bitter about it. 

6. I met my best friend, Jeanne at our first sorority function when we joined Tri Delta. When I told her my hometown, she shouted “OH MY GOD AURELIOS PIZZA IS THE BEST!” We bonded instantly. 

7. I met my first boyfriend in college, Noah, at a party where he was drinking boxed wine, specifically Franzia White Zinfandel. I got overly excited because my mom drank that and I missed her, and we started talking. Nothing but class here, folks.

8. I used to ice skate competitively from age 5 until high school, when my private coach wanted me to show up at the rink at 5am every day to practice. I quit because I wanted to sleep in more. (I should find you some of my skating show pictures. I think there’s one of me in a purple and gold outer space themed outfit, possibly with a laser backdrop if I remember correctly.)

9. My brother Paul and his wife Kari just found out that they are going to have a baby GIRL! Ok. That’s not really about me. But I’m going to have a niece!

10. I currently am trying to buy another house, so I live with my parents, and I fear I may be having a mental breakdown because of it.
